I've got one or twoish Jazz-Soundwave interactions in misc notes for something like a far-future in Mistakes continuity. Just for fun.

“Okay, then the frag you mad about?” Jazz demands.

Soundwave turns back to his security feeds, turning away from Jazz and the conversation.

Jazz hops over a chair and sits on the desk beside the monitor bank, feigned casual, ready to stab or flee, frowning at Soundwave with a rapid flicker of guesses that Soundwave tries to ignore, so that he will not react. It does not save him. “Wait,” Jazz says, voice colored by incredulous laughter. “You’re mad about Ricochet? The frag?” He crosses his arms, drawing a knife to play with as he does. “You’re cool with the Jazz work, and all kindsa -- the frag did Ricochet ever do to you, Sounders?”

Soundwave marks the batch of feeds for archive and sets a new one, and gestures for Jazz to move out of the way so that he can see. Jazz scoots exactly as far as required, and spins his knife, smiling, head tilted, studying Soundwave with uncomfortably open curiosity. He starts to assemble a flirtation, because he is becoming far too comfortable needling Soundwave’s silence. “Y--”

“Jazz: had ideolo--” Soundwave cuts himself off, sentence unready and rushed in an attempt to forestall Jazz. He takes a moment, looking at security feeds, to remember the thought that, while uncomfortably metaphorical, keeps cutting in. “Ricochet: was an expression of concerns with Decepticon cause unresolved against continuing loyalty.”

Jazz blinks, knife twirling rhythmically as he thinks. Soundwave braces, and remembers to ignore the deceptive blur of partial considerations before Jazz speaks. “You mad ‘cause you understand?” His tone is surprisingly gentle, enough to make Soundwave falter.

“Ricoch--” Soundwave frowns behind his mask, again struggling to speak to Jazz with his preferred level of precision. “Concerns: valid.” he says, as quietly as his vocalizer allows. He feels danger in this idea, different and connected to the danger any other Decepticon would have been in for expressing the same, before. He points himself towards the feeds, as if that will disguise that his attention is still on Jazz. “Discussion: wistful alternative.”

Jazz sits up and laughs, harsh, almost vicious. His knife goes still. “You wish I’d come to you when I got disillusioned?”

His field is sad but more angry, and Soundwave understands, was already braced. He shakes his head. “No.” Soundwave understands very well why Ricochet -- why Jazz never approached Soundwave in his time of uncertainty, and Soundwave is still unsure, frightened, mad because he does not know whether or not he is relieved that Jazz did not. “Discussion: likely would have led to...” Soundwave refuses to bow his posture. He also does not look directly at Jazz. “Different regrets.”

The anger bleeds out of Jazz. He nods as he resumes tossing his blade. “We made our choices, good and bad,” he says, and his tone is again seductively accepting. He smiles as he shrugs. “But...”

After a long silence that it seems Jazz will not fill, Soundwave nods as well. “Possibilities,” he says, “difficult to put aside.”
